william bennett Meet Marc
Hello, my name is Marc Steele. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor at New Life Counseling Center, PLLC

I earned a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling Degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2013. I offer faith based or humanistic focused counseling depending on your preference.

For more than eight years, I have worked with clients from ages spanning from 5 years old to 85. I have worked with clients from multiple cultural and racial backgrounds including African American, Caucasian, Spanish, Latino, Venezuelan, and Asian. I most frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral, Emotion Focused, Solution Focused, Strategic, Client Centered, Narrative and Psychodynamic approaches and modalities. I offer counseling services in both individual, marital/couples, family and group settings including the above populations and demographics. I include play therapy and have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

I provide counseling services to individuals including children and adolescents ages 6 to 17, and adults of all ages. A standard counseling session is 53 minutes in length (extended time for sessions can be arranged). Group therapy sessions are 1 -2 ½ hours depending on the group size and meeting location. The scheduling needs and frequency of sessions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Counseling services are provided at the office located on Healy Drive or by telehealth depending on your preference.

It's important to me to create a safe, judgement-free space for you as you do your important work in therapy. I recognize the vulnerable feelings you experience while you are healing, sorting out and making sense of your life. I use an integrated approach to treat multiple issues including anxiety, relationship conflict, depression, spirituality and more. My specialty is in treating grief and loss, which I find is a core problem beneath many of the other issues that surface in a troublesome way. In some ways, all counseling is grief counseling.

I believe if we can understand why and how you think the way you do, we can then explore some different ways of thinking about your situation that could be something that works better for you. I want to work with you and for you, to help accomplish your goals. It is you who knows the picture that you want to create, my job is to help you accomplish that. If you aren't sure I can help you with clarifying your goals too. I believe there is more to life than just coping with your problems and a "fake-it 'til you make-it" approach. You are capable of meaningful renewal and change. It will be our shared goal to help you get there. Call now to schedule your free screening.
