Hello, my name is Gabby Milando. I am a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling at Wake Forest University. I am completing my internship at New Life Counseling Center, PLLC, a private group practice in Winston Salem, NC, offering individual, group, couples and family counseling, and serving a wide variety of clients from diverse backgrounds. Our offices are conveniently located, have plenty of free parking and are fully handicapped accessible. The professional building has many different types of businesses, so your confidentiality and anonymity is enhanced. Our office hours are 9-6 Monday through Fridays. Some evening hours are available by prior arrangement.
I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to work towards achieving your goals. My goal is to facilitate growth by walking alongside you in your journey and uncovering tools to help you navigate life’s difficulties. I hope that I can serve as a source of empowerment while also providing you with a space filled with healing and hope.
My counseling approach is integrative in nature, drawing from person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapy. However, each client is different, and my approach will always be informed by the unique needs of the client.
I am a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. My clinical experience includes working with individuals of varying ages (adolescents and adults) and facilitating psychotherapy groups. I have experience working with mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Most recently, I completed my practicum at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Brenner’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit, where I provided crisis counseling and facilitated psychotherapy groups to adolescents (ages 12-18) in an inpatient mental health setting. This opportunity allowed me to enhance my clinical skills and work in an integrative care setting.
